Athlete Improvement
The list below details triathlete improvement while training with Pursuit Coaching.
We have bench-marked across the 70.3 distance, as the of majority of our triathletes race this distance at least once a year.
We have a program and an environment that is dedicated to all of our triathletes, not just the very best in the squad. This has proved successful for all levels of ability - from professional athletes like Kerry Morris and Allister Caird, through to first-time 70.3 competitors.
Total races - 103
-
94% of triathletes have improved over the 70.3 distance
-
69% improved by over 10 minutes
-
42% improved by over 20 minutes
-
30% improved by over 30 minutes
-
19% improved by over 40 minutes
An important note about our triathletes improvements is that we're not a squad focusing on beginners, where gains come easier.
Also, the below results are just for the 70.3 distance, which is not always the triathlete's focus. Some of our triathletes are training for short course, while others are focused on the Ironman distance. These triathletes may still compete in the 70.3 but it's not what they're working towards in training, so their results aren't optimised for this distance. For example, two triathletes that didn't show improvement over the 70.3 distance actually qualified and competed in Kona, which was a huge success for them.
The asterisk next to triathletes names gives you an indication of what they achieved:
* State Champion
** 70.3 Winner
*** Kona Qualifier
**** Ironman Winner
***** Progressed to racing as a Professional
Please note this is not where they started, they worked hard and built up to achieve their successes.

"Mike and Deb’s programming, knowledge of the sport and attention to detail are second to none. Within six months of joining pursuit I had taken 30mins off my half Ironman PB and 1hour 35mins of my Ironman time from the year before. An amazing mix of levels and skills in the squad and everyone is so welcoming and encouraging with a healthy level of competition to ensure you push yourself that little bit harder. The coaches complement each other perfectly and you won’t get lost in a sea of athletes like you might in a large squad."
